Highlights from the 2007 Live Event

HealthLeaders Media handed out 45 awards at a half-day event in New York City on Nov. 9, 2007, representing the nation’s best hospital marketing campaigns of 2006.

The annual contest recognized campaigns in six categories: direct-to-consumer, marketing to physicians, marketing quality, internal communications, service-lines, and branding. In addition, one organization was recognized as winner of the Best Integrated Marketing Campaign-sponsored by Thomson Healthcare.

The winning campaigns were selected based on their overall look and quality, their creativity, how well they conveyed their intended message, and how well they met their intended objectives. Gold, silver, and bronze awards were given to small, medium, and large hospitals in each category. The campaign judges included five hospital marketing professionals and four editors from HealthLeaders Media.

The event at the Hilton New York also included two roundtables featuring winners selected by the judges to discuss their campaigns in detail. The roundtables were recorded and a copy of the program is available for purchase from HCPro Inc.

The event also featured keynote speaker Rhoda Weiss, CEO of the 31,000-member Public Relations Society of America and the founding president of the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development (SHSMD). Ms. Weiss shared her insight on hot healthcare marketing trends and new media.
